ANNUAL MEETING IN BERN
Close contact and personal exchange with the art therapists and doctors involved in the programmes are of great importance for the success and sustainability of the therapeutic programmes in hospitals, which is why the foundation organises an annual meeting.
This year it took place on Friday 28 April 2023 from 13:00 to 18:00 at the Paul Klee Centre in Bern, with over 30 participants. This was also a great opportunity to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Fondation ART-THERAPIE.
The afternoon began with a warm welcome from founder Charlotte Leber and director Silvana Mombelli, followed by brief presentations by the participants. We were pleased to welcome many familiar faces, as well as some new ones.
We were then honoured to hear Professor Klauser from the Centre for Psychiatric Neurosciences at the CHUV, who presented a study, partly supported by the Foundation, on the impact of 40 Hz frequencies on young people at high risk of mental illness (more information here). He managed to explain a very complex study in an understandable way and inspired a lively discussion from the participants.
In the opening of the second part, Silvana Mombelli presented the challenges, successes and objectives of the foundation, before the participants split into three groups for a workshop. The aim was to develop a common understanding of the annual monitoring and evaluation reports of therapeutic programmes. The results developed are very valuable for our work and allow us to optimise existing processes and instruments. The exchanges around the three tables were fruitful and will allow the foundation to implement new practices and develop more relevant tools for the programmes and the therapists.
This meeting was rich in exchanges, and offers the Foundation’s team new perspectives on the programmes. We are very grateful to everyone who participated and are already looking forward to the 2024 meeting.
Grazie!
