In 2024, the ART- THERAPIE Foundation will be supporting 16 art therapy projects for children in 13 partner hospitals throughout Switzerland. 

To the projects

The projects focus mainly, but not exclusively, on four paediatric specialities: child psychiatry (eating disorders, neurological diseases, behavioural disorders), intensive care (infectious diseases, inflammation, surgery and trauma), oncology and neonatology(respiratory distress syndrome, metabolic disorders).

Requests for support often come directly from hospitals, demonstrating the extent to which the supported projects are needed and wanted, and encouraging the long-term integration of the project. The projects are set up in close cooperation with the partner hospital, with the involvement of a doctor in charge and a graduate art therapist (ED) who is integrated within a multidisciplinary team made up of doctors, nurses and other therapists.

We attach great importance to supporting and monitoring our projects. We visit the projects regularly and maintain close contact with the hospital and therapists. During follow-up, particular attention is paid to good teamwork with the medical team and the way in which therapies are organised. Wherever possible, we meet with inpatients.

We also encourage exchanges and knowledge transfer between the various people involved in our projects through a range of activities.
