1. How did you become an art therapist? What made you decide to take this course?
After graduating in visual arts, I gave art classes for children and adults. I soon noticed that some people were using the visual arts to express themselves. I then decided that I wanted to work in an institution to offer different spaces to children in institutions. This led me to train as an art therapist at HETSL.
2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
The need to be creative oneself, the encounters with small patients and multidisciplinary work.
3. How long have you been active in the Foundation’s projects?
Since 2021.
4. How would you describe your work?
My work is based on artistic, scientific and psychological knowledge. Art therapy can be used to improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, promote self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, improve social skills, and reduce and resolve conflict and distress.
5. Which artist would you like to dine with and why?Â
Per Kirkeby, who was a fabulous artist.
6. What did you want to be when you were little?Â
Diplomat
